A clay Japanese teapot without a lid, designed for whisking matcha and easily pouring it into another cup. Ideal for preparing matcha lattes.

  • This clay Tokoname teapot is perfect for whisking matcha base and pouring it to another cup to prepare a matcha latte. For this reason this teapot is designed without a lid. Tokoname-yaki is a traditional style of Japanese ceramics originating from Tokoname, one of Japan's six ancient kiln sites. Ceramic production in Tokoname has been ongoing since the 12th century.

Tokoname ceramics are renowned for their iconic red-brick-colored clay known as shudei. This clay, rich in iron, is considered ideal for crafting tea vessels and bonsai pots. It is believed that tea brewed in an unglazed Tokoname teapot offers a smoother and more refined taste, providing a truly unique tea-drinking experience.
